Privacy policy
LAST UPDATED 2 NOVEMBER 2026
rin is a personal AI that lives in your messages. To do that, she has to remember what you tell her. This page says exactly what rin keeps, who else touches it, and how to make it all go away.
“rin”, “we” and “us” mean the service at mangorin.com. Questions about privacy go to hello@mangorin.com.
The short version
- rin keeps what you tell her so she can remember it, and uses it only to be your assistant.
- We don’t sell your data, we don’t show you ads, and nothing you say is used to train AI models.
- Your voice notes are turned into text on rin’s own servers, and the audio is deleted straight after.
- The admin page the people running rin use shows numbers only, never what anyone said.
- You can forget any memory or delete your whole account yourself, in Settings. Backups are gone within 14 days.
What rin keeps
- Your account: your name, age, phone number and, if you give one, your email address. The voice, check-in time and other settings you pick.
- What you tell her: your messages, the text of your voice notes, and what comes out of them: memories, goals, tasks, reminders, routines, the contacts you ask her to save, and the notes from meetings you send her to.
- Where you reach her: the apps you link (iMessage, Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack or the web) and the IDs those apps give your account.
- Your location, only if you share it: a pin or a live location you share in Telegram, the location button on the website, or Find My if you share it with rin’s number. rin keeps only the latest place, never a history. Your timezone, so reminders arrive on your clock.
- Connected accounts, only if you connect them: Google (your calendar and Gmail), GitHub (the repository you choose) and Claude Code on your computer (the folders you connect). Their access keys stay on rin’s servers and are never shared.
- How rin is running for you: for each message, when it arrived, how long the reply took, whether it worked, and how much AI work it took. Never the words. This keeps rin fast and tells us what she costs to run.
- Ideas you send us: what you write in “share an idea”. The people running rin read these, without your name next to them. They go when your account does.
- The basics of running a website: one login cookie, and short server logs used to keep rin working and secure. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How rin uses it
Only to be your assistant: to reply to you, remember what matters, send the reminders, routines and check-ins you set up, do the tasks you ask for, and keep rin working, secure and affordable. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show you ads, and we don’t build a profile of you for anyone else.
rin texts you first only for what you set up: reminders, routines, and a daily check-in on goals you’ve told her about.
The AI, and model training
rin’s replies are written by an AI model. To answer, it reads your message along with what it needs to answer well: your recent chat, what rin remembers about you, your timezone and saved place, and the results of any look-ups it does. The model is an open model run for rin, not a public chatbot service, and nothing it reads is used to train it or any other model.
Voice notes you send are turned into text by a speech model on rin’s own servers, and the audio is deleted as soon as that’s done. rin’s own voice, in her voice notes and calls, is made on rin’s servers too.
Google data
If you connect Google, rin reads your calendar and Gmail only to answer what you ask (“what’s on tomorrow?”, “anything from my landlord?”), creates calendar events you ask for, and writes email drafts that you send yourself. She never sends an email without you saying so. If you ask her to call you before meetings, she also checks your calendar every few minutes for what's coming up, and says the meeting's name on the call.
rin’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is not used for advertising or to train AI models, is not sold, and is not read by people except with your permission, for security, or when the law requires it.
You can disconnect Google at any time in Settings, or in your Google account’s security settings.
Claude Code on your computer
If you connect your computer, rin passes the coding tasks you text her to a small runner there, which starts your own Claude Code in the folders you connected. Your code stays on your computer. rin keeps the task and the summary Claude Code writes back, and texts you that summary. Claude Code runs under your own Anthropic account and its terms. Disconnect it any time in Settings.
Group chats
A group chat with rin in it, on iMessage or Telegram, is its own space, with no account behind it. rin keeps the group’s messages for that group, and nothing from any member’s private account (memories, location, connected apps) is ever used there. She answers when someone names her, sometimes joins in, and stays quiet if anyone in the group asks her to. Groups can have up to five people besides rin. For a Telegram group, rin also notes which account brought her in. That note only stops strangers using her; it never connects that person’s private chats to the group.
Meeting notes
If you send rin’s notetaker into a Google Meet or Teams call, it shows up in the call as “rin’s notetaker” and whoever runs the call has to let it in. Vexa runs it and turns what’s said into a transcript; no recording is made. rin reads the transcript to write your summary and action items, and texts them to you. She keeps no copy: if you ask for the full transcript, or what someone said, she fetches it from Vexa again and only your account can open it. If you delete your account, rin tells Vexa to delete your meeting transcripts too. Vexa removes them from its live systems straight away; its backups run out on its own schedule. Let the people in the call know notes are being taken: in some places, everyone has to agree.
Who else handles it
rin works with a few service providers. Each gets only what its job needs, and only to do that job for rin:
- Hostinger runs the servers rin and her database live on.
- The AI model server receives your message and the context needed to answer it.
- Photon carries iMessage, WhatsApp and phone calls to and from rin’s number, and Find My locations you share with her.
- Telegram and Slack carry your messages, if you use rin there.
- Resend delivers sign-in codes to your email address.
- Look-ups: Tavily (web search), Currents (news), Open-Meteo (weather), and for places and distances Overture Maps (on Amazon’s servers), Photon (Komoot), OSRM and OpenStreetMap receive only what’s being looked up, sent from rin’s server, not from your phone.
- Vexa runs the meeting notetaker and makes the transcript.
- Google and GitHub, only if you connect them, for what rin reads or writes there for you.
Messaging apps also keep your messages under their own policies, as they would for any chat. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
Where it’s stored
rin’s servers and several of the providers above may be outside your country, including in the United States. Using rin means your information is handled there, with the protections this policy describes.
Who at rin can see it
The admin page shows only numbers: how many people use rin, how replies are doing, what things cost. The people who run rin can reach its servers, and look at an account’s data only to fix a problem you report, to look into abuse or a security issue, or when the law requires it.
Security
Connections to rin are encrypted (HTTPS). Signing in uses one-time codes sent to your phone or email. Only the people who run rin can reach its servers, with keys rather than passwords. No system is perfectly secure: if something goes wrong that affects your data, we’ll tell you.
How long it’s kept
For as long as you have an account. You can make rin forget any single memory, and cancel any reminder or routine, at any time.
Deleting your account (Settings → account) removes everything in one go: your messages, memories and everything else above. rin also cancels her access to your Google account, removes her from a Slack workspace only you used, and releases your phone number from her line. A blank record with no personal details stays behind, so your account’s ID is never given to anyone else. Daily backups are kept for 14 days, so within 14 days your data is gone from those too. Messages already on your phone or in your chat apps stay there.
Your choices and rights
- See what rin remembers in lore, and forget anything there.
- Disconnect Google, GitHub or your computer in Settings. Stop sharing your location in the Find My app, or on the live location in Telegram.
- Stop texts and calls any time: text STOP to rin. Text START to turn them back on. Replies to what you send still come, and Telegram and the web are unaffected.
- In a group, tell rin to stay quiet, and she will.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, at hello@mangorin.com. We answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have further rights, such as to object to or limit how your data is used, or to take it elsewhere. We honour these requests wherever you live. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Age
rin is for people 18 and older. We don’t knowingly keep data about anyone younger; if you think we have, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by text before it takes effect. The date at the top says when it last changed. The terms of use cover the rest of the deal.
